Plagiarism Policy
Conversa: Journal of Communication and Social Research is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. The journal strictly prohibits plagiarism in any form and expects all submitted manuscripts to be original works of the authors.
All manuscripts submitted to Conversa are screened using plagiarism detection software before entering the peer-review process. The editorial team evaluates the similarity report carefully to distinguish legitimate similarity (such as references, quotations, methodology, and commonly used terms) from potential plagiarism.
The journal considers the following practices as unethical publication misconduct:
- Copying text, data, figures, or ideas from other sources without proper acknowledgment.
- Self-plagiarism or redundant publication without appropriate citation.
- Duplicate submission to more than one journal simultaneously.
- Data fabrication or falsification.
- Improper citation or intentional omission of relevant references.
As a general guideline, Conversa expects manuscripts to have a similarity index of no more than 20%, excluding references, bibliography, quoted text, and properly cited sources. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected, depending on the nature and extent of the similarity.
If plagiarism or other forms of publication misconduct are identified before publication, the manuscript will be rejected. If such misconduct is discovered after publication, the journal reserves the right to publish a correction, issue a retraction, or remove the article from its website when necessary, following established editorial procedures.
Authors are fully responsible for ensuring the originality of their work and for obtaining permission to use copyrighted materials where applicable.
By submitting a manuscript to Conversa: Journal of Communication and Social Research, authors declare that their submission is original, has not been published previously, is not under consideration elsewhere, and complies with the ethical standards of scholarly publishing.
